With hospitality, hotels, gyms and leisure firms being hardest hit by the latest lockdown, the Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a package of restart grants worth over £5billion.

In order to help businesses in these industries the scheme will be distributed by local authorities from April 2021.

Eligible business will be able to claim up to £18,000 per premises which will be awarded based on their rateable band. The treasury estimates 230,000 firms will be able to apply for the higher band grant.

Sean Daniel, Managing Director said “The restart grant will provide a much-needed lifeline to those businesses affected by the latest lockdown. We hope the Chancellor will set out more support in his budget this week”.
